This Trust is a forum of dedicated individuals striving to provide equal opportunities to the down-trodden and the oppressed; it continuously supports them to have a sustained, self-reliant and growth oriented life in myriad socio-cultural, educational and economic activities. These empathetic individuals have united soulfully and whole heartedly for the champion cause of elevate the vulnerable and suppressed segments of the society. The members of the trust have been relentlessly working for the last thirty years to accomplish their set objectives and have formed the Trust.
The Trust hopes to be an organization, which effectively implements the various programs and projects launched by the Government of India & Government of Karnataka for the upliftment of the people.
The Jana Kalyana Trust is running a free Residential Primary School for destitute Scheduled Caste Children and a High School since 1994-95. The Institution is located in a rural remote place at Honnapura Village, Periyapatna Taluk, Mysore District on the banks of river Cauvery, in the limits of Doddakamaravally Village Panchayat. The Residential Primary School in running with the financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. The School has got the BEST SCHOOL AWARD from the Education department.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: The Trust is conducting lot of cultural activities since its inception. It has been organizing FOLK ARTISTS’ camps; several ethnic groups from various places have participated. It has also organized THEATRE WORKSHOPS for school children.
DEBATES & LECTURES: It has also organized series of discussions, debates and lectures on various issues of concern like the Social Responsibility, Status of Women, Social evils like the Dowry system, Untouchabality, Superstition and few others like this every year, inviting intellectuals and scholars to create awareness.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES: Lot of sports activities were conducted by the organization for the public, including women and children by the Trust every year. Taluk level Ball badminton Tournament will be organized every year at Honnapura for general public. Throw ball and Kho-Kho competitions will be organized for Taluk level School children. Some ethnic sports events were also organized every year.
